North Nottinghamshire College
Publication Scheme
Introduction Freedom of Information Act
The FOIA 2000 is intended to give the public greater access to information about the workings of public authorities. This means increased openness and accountability across the public sector by requiring all public authorities to make information routinely available through a Publication Scheme.
The Publication Scheme
The publication scheme is a requirement under Section 19 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000. It sets out the information the College will routinely make available to the public, the majority of which can be found on our website and is available to download. The purpose of the scheme is to provide information on the following:
North Nottinghamshire College has adopted the model Publication Scheme approved by the Information Commissioner with effect from 1 January 2009. The College is committed to making the information included in the Scheme available unless:
- It does not hold the information
- The information is exempt from disclosure under the FOIA, or Environmental
- Information Regulations (EIRs), or its release is prohibited under another statute;
- The information cannot easily be accessed
Access to information
The majority of information is available for download directly from the website. The College’s Guide to the Publication Scheme details how information can be obtained if required in other formats.
